Which should I take, GONG BI JIN YAK or MYCUT?
MYCUT is a 7-stage prescription focused on appetite control and metabolic management, and GONG BI JIN YAK is a patented prescription that adds Gongjindan's qi-and-blood-replenishing formula to it to look after vitality and condition as well. After tests and a consultation, the doctor decides which prescription fits.
How is it different from Wegovy and Mounjaro?
They work differently. Wegovy and Mounjaro (GLP-1 injections) mimic satiety hormones to reduce appetite, while Miple's herbal diet medicine looks after metabolism and qi-blood circulation. Which suits you is decided after a body composition test and consultation. At Miple, we look after energy and muscle with a Gongjindan prescription, and after your target weight we lower the stage slowly with a maintenance-stage prescription. If you are on injection therapy, the rule is to talk to your prescribing doctor first.
Is herbal diet medicine okay for the liver or kidneys?
Miple Korean Medicine Clinic ran liver and kidney blood tests on every first-visit patient for several years to confirm the safety of taking the herbal medicine. We compared liver and kidney blood test values before and during herbal medicine use from 2022 to 2024. 52% stayed within the normal range for liver levels, and 38% saw levels that had been above the reference range come down. For kidney levels, 78% stayed within the normal range and 17% saw high levels come down. No case met the criteria for drug-induced liver injury. Based on this, we now prescribe through a medical history, a body composition test, and the doctor's consultation, and review your recent test results if you have a chronic condition or when needed.
Where and how is the medicine made?
There are three ways to make herbal medicine: receiving it from an external dispensary and prescribing it, having several branches make it together in one place, and making it directly inside the clinic. At Miple, the prescribing head doctor makes it in person in the in-house pill-making room, so stage adjustments can be reflected right away. For MYCUT, in Miple Korean Medicine Clinic's in-house pill-making room the head doctor personally handles everything from choosing the herbs to grinding, mixing, pill-making, drying, moisture testing, and packaging. We use only GMP-certified herbs and go through heavy metal and pesticide residue testing, HPLC component content checks, and weight, appearance, and microbial testing before shipment.
Can I get a prescription if I'm not in Busan?
Yes. After a remote first consultation, medicine made in-house is sent to you by courier. The doctor also holds the remote consultation in person, and if he judges that an in-person check is needed during the consultation, he may recommend a visit. Please start with a consultation by KakaoTalk or phone.
Are there cases where Miple's herbal diet medicine isn't right for me?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain conditions, taking it may be difficult, so we decide whether you can take it and the stage after a consultation. If price is your most important criterion, Miple may not be a fit, since there are costs for raw materials and the in-house manufacturing process. It is hard to maintain weight with medicine alone, so you will need to manage your eating habits too, and we will help you find efforts you can try without overdoing it. Effects and side effects may vary from person to person.
